For little munchkins who tend to wander out of their room when they are put to bed, the bed time pass can be a simple yet effective way to address this tricky situation and prevent a game of yo-yo at night time.

Rehearse with your child the rules of the pass. They can exchange one pass, two passes, three passes (how ever many you want to begin with - you can then gradually reduce down over time), but once the passes are up, they're up and it's back to bed we go.

However, if they manage to hold onto their bed time pass and mind it safely under their pillow all night long, they can hand it in to their caregiver in the morning time in exchange for a little something nice to say job well done. This can be a glass of orange juice, a preferred cereal, a pancake, a bit of T.V time before school, whatever motivates them and is easily given by you that is not overly costly! It's best to arrange a pre-selected choice of options before you begin to avoid any negative associations with the pass.

My bed time pass comes in three colours, pink, blue and green. Simply download, print, laminate and implement!

Details:

This bed time pass is good for one of the following: a hug, a kiss, a trip to the toilet, a drink, a question, an extra tuck in.

I will return to bed within 5 minutes.

If I don't use my pass I can trade it in for a treat in the morning.
